Self Help

Many of the people we know may experience mental ill-health. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is likely to be increased mental distress. The longer-term impact on employment and financial instability also has the potential to adversely affect individual wellbeing. Basic training in mental health skills can enable us to support someone’s wellbeing. Knowing which services provide support with mental health and wellbeing will enable you to direct someone to more specialist help if they need it  read here what help may be available

Brighton Parent Infant Psychological Therapy

(BrightPIP) is a specialist mental health service. They work with expectant parents and those with new-born babies up until the age of three. Through therapeutic intervention they support parents to respond to their child’s needs by helping them to understand the world through their infant’s eyes. Their work strengthens the parent-infant relationship, helping to form a strong bond, which is important for a child’s future well-being and resilience.

From September 2022 we are launching a new core offer of up to six free sessions of parent-infant therapy to those who need our support. To access this support they require a referral via a health professional most often a Midwife, Health Visitors or GP.

So please contact the Surgery if this is something you would be interested in.
